An important primary election will take place June 28 and concerned citizen should arm themselves with information about the candidates.

In Tulsa County, almost all of the races are Republican primaries.

Here are the Tulsa Beacon endorsements and recommendations for the June 28 primary.

Governor – Republican

Gov. Kevin Stitt is an accomplished businessman who is reforming parts of Oklahoma state government despite the moderate views and obstruction of the Legislative leadership. Under Stitt, we have surpluses instead of deficits. Unlike Mary Fallin, Stitt is fighting for the lives of unborn children.

United States Senator – Republican

A few candidates have a decent chance to make the GOP runoff in this race: State Sen. Nathan Dahm, U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin, former State Sen. Scott Pruitt, former House Speaker T.W. Shannon, Dr. Randy Grellner and Luke Holland.

All claim to be conservative and all are Christians. Dahm has the most consistent track record and would be willing to challenge the liberal tendencies of Republican leaders.

United States Senator – Republican

Incumbent U.S. Sen. James Lankford drew challenger Jackson Lahmeyer, a Tulsa pastor, because Lankford didn’t always agree with President Trump. Both men are Christians who campaign on conservative values.

U.S. Representative District 2 – Republican

Former U.S. Rep. Jim Bridenstine has endorsed Josh Brecheen for this open seat.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Josh Brecheen.

Attorney General – Republican

John M. O’Conner is an accomplished attorney who was nominated by former President Donald Trump and appointed attorney general by Gov. Stitt. He is a true conservative and is not shy about challenging the U.S Supreme Court to battle for issues that matter to Oklahomans.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Attorney General John M. O’Connor for re-election.

State Auditor and Inspector – Republican

The Tulsa Beacon recommends Cindy Byrd.

State Treasurer – Republican

Rep. Todd Russ has the background and legislative experience to occupy this open seat.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Rep. Todd Russ for Oklahoma Treasurer.

State School Superintendent – Republican

Ryan Walters has proven that he will go against the liberal education establishment to make Oklahoma schools better.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Ryan Walkers for State School Superintendent.

Labor Commissioner – Republican

Rep. Sean Roberts, R-Hominy, has a conservative and practical record in the House.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Rep. Sean Roberts for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner.

Corporation Commissioner – Republican

Todd Thomsen seems the best choice.

Tulsa County Assessor – Republican

Tulsa County Assessor John A. Wright is one of the most conservative elected officials in the state. He has done a good job during a busy time.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses John Wright.

Tulsa County Commissioner District 3 – Republican

Bob Jack has the perfect business background to be an asset to Tulsa County.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Bob Jack for county commissioner.

District Court Judge District 14 Office 12 – (Non-partisan)

Kevin Gray is the assistant district attorney for Tulsa County. He has been endorsed by DA Steve Kunzweiler. Gray has a solid track record and would do a good job.

State Senate District 36 – Republican

Sen. John Haste is an effective, experienced senator.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses John Haste for the Oklahoma Senate.

State Representative District 11 – Republican

Rep. Wendi Stearman is a champion for the unborn and is an effective leader.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Rep. Wendi Stearman for the Oklahoma House.

State Representative District 76 – Republican

The Tulsa Beacon recommends Timothy Brooks for the Oklahoma House.

State Representative District 79 – Republican

Paul Hassink is a true conservative and is the best chance to beat one of the most liberal representatives in the state in the general election.
