Car insurance rates are at an all-time high in the United States, but rates are holding steady in the Tulsa metro area, according to The Zebra’s just-released 2019 State of Auto Insurance Report.

Why are rates dropping in the Tulsa metro area?
“Oklahoma drivers have seen rates decline more than any other state — 20 percent since 2011,” said The Zebra Director of Market Insights Alyssa Connolly. “For Tulsa-area drivers, the decline has been 23 percent since 2011, and rates are holding steady this year with nearly zero change. This indicates that accidents and loss expenditures have been steady or declining. Oklahoma has substantially reduced the number of uninsured drivers in the state, which has a positive impact on rates for everyone.
