Tulsa Public Schools’ (TPS) official say they have about 300 open jobs – a higher figure than in previous years at this time.

There are openings for janitors and school security. They are short in grounds keepers. There are openings for lunch ladies, cafeteria managers, janitors, school support staff and bus drivers.

A shortage of bus drivers has been a problem for several years. That’s true all over.

There is a need for safety and security officers.

Also, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tulsa Public Schools is handing out to all Tulsa children ages 18 and under five days’ worth of breakfast and lunch meals free of charge. The pickup dates are August 2 and 9. Families can pick up meals at six grab-and-go meal sites.  Families can pick up five days’ worth of meals at the following locations:

  • College Bound Academy, 2525 S. 101st E. Ave.
