Tulsa and Oklahoma are about to get an influx of refugees from Afghanistan after President Biden withdrew from that nation.

And thanks to Biden’s open border policy, the southern U.S. border is being overrun by illegal aliens from Central America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and even China.

What should be the Christian response to this invasion?

Americans have always been compassionate and helped other people in need. If someone is legally in this country, they can depend on our help, particularly Christian ministries.

Jesus told us to spread the Gospel but also attend the physical needs of others.

But the Bible is also full of instruction about national borders. God is a God of order, not chaos.

If refugees from Afghanistan need help, the good people of Tulsa should help them. But that’s on the condition that they plan to work, make a living, gain financial independence and stay off welfare. That is the rich history of national groups that have populated America throughout most of its history.

Biden needs to obey the immigration laws or have Congress change them. Anyone who enters illegally needs to be taken and returned to their country of origin. Biden deliberately has made that difficult because of his open border instructions and his harsh criticism of not only the Border Patrol but the state governments along the southern border.

America can’t save the world. When the U.S. does accept immigrants, they need to be vetted and prepared to accept our laws. That is the challenge.
