When times are turbulent, it is important to have public officials who are trustworthy and competent.

That’s what we have with Tulsa County Court Clerk Don Newberry.

Since Newberry was elected in 2016, he has not only run his office in a professional manner but he has also instituted upgrades and improvements that have proved to be very beneficial to not only the public but also to all of the employees of the County Courthouse.

That should come as no surprise considering Newberry’s background. After serving in the United States Air Force from 1987-1996, he earned an associate degree in Business Administration from Tulsa Community College; a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Liberty University; an MBA from Liberty University; and a Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law (MJIL) from The University of Tulsa Law School.

He then worked for a private mortgage company and that private-sector experience gave him insight on how to make county government work more efficiently. Newberry developed a “workflow analysis system” that have proven to be very useful.

Newberry spent several years in the Tulsa County Assessor’s Office and his management – especially with the budget – increased productivity. Newberry has updated the furniture and look of his offices – a redesign that was way overdue. He has streamlined processing and made online information more accessible and easier.

A Sunday School teacher, Newberry practices the Christian principles that he believes in and that is so very important in managing government transactions.

Tulsa County is fortunate to have someone like Don Newberry in his position.

The Tulsa Beacon strongly endorses Tulsa County Court Clerk Don Newberry and recommends Republicans vote for him in the June 30 primary.
