What should conservative Christian voters look for in the November 6 election?
Here are some insights.
Christopher Uric Brecht-Smith is running against Judge Linda Morrissey for Tulsa County District Judge. His registered name on the ballot will be “Chris Brecht” because he doesn’t want unsuspecting voters to know he is “married” to another man.
He truly is proud of his homosexual lifestyle and you can see proof on his Facebook page. It has a picture of Judge Wiseman performing the ceremony with his “husband.” And his Facebook page also has a picture of him with a young Boy Scout. The Boy Scouts of America’s national leadership is embracing homosexuality and so this campaign picture fits.
But the members of Tulsa’s homosexual community and their supporters understand that they have to hide his chosen lifestyle to get him elected.
It would be a public shame if Tulsa elected someone like this to be a judge at any level. A judge should be impartial but this person would take that position with a radical political ideology – the promotion of homosexuality.
And Judge Linda Morrissey is experienced, hard working and professional. She is by far the best choice in this race.
Please tell all your friends about Brecht-Smith. Tell your Sunday school class, your family and your friends. His campaign is clandestine now in terms of the general public but if he wins, homosexual advocates all over the nation will crow about a homosexual judge in Tulsa.
Speaking of judges, it’s time to bust up the Oklahoma Supreme Court. This court is packed with liberal, activist judges who were appointed mostly by Brad Henry. We have a chance to vote no on retaining four justices on November 6.
Typically, these judges get two-thirds’ yes votes and one third no votes. Oklahoma has never voted out one of the justices on the Supreme Court.
This year, Patrick R. Wyrick, Noma Gurich, Yvonne Kauger and James Edmondson are up for retention. I would vote yes for Wyrick and no on the other three.
If you wanted to target one to get rid of, it would be James Edmondson. He’s the brother of liberal Democrat Drew Edmondson, who is running for governor.
Drew Edmondson was Oklahoma Attorney General while his brother sat on the Oklahoma Supreme Court. That’s a giant red flag, especially when both are pro-abortion.
James Edmondson voted against the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, public display of the Ten Commandments on the Capitol grounds, and several laws against abortion. He is completely out of touch with how most Oklahomans feel.
The only recourse is to vote no on retention. And if even one of these activist judges were to be voted out, it would send a serious message to the rest of them to start interpreting the law instead of legislating.
Conservative members of the Oklahoma House of Representatives have been targeted by some devious “dark money” groups and the ultra-negative ads have been successful.
These groups from outside Oklahoma managed to defeat Rep. Chuck Strohm, Rep. Dr. Mike Ritze, Rep. George Faught and others in primary and runoff elections.
Part of their strategy is to have liberal, life-long Democrats reregister as Republicans so they can target conservatives. They run nasty ads that are full of lies and they work.
So, the returning conservatives have their work cut out for them and they need help. House District 79 in South Tulsa is an open seat. Republican Dan Hicks is as conservative as you can get and he is running against an “education” Democrat.
The “education” candidates think Oklahomans should pay higher taxes and devote more funding to public education. They don’t care if the money reaches the classroom – they just want more money for administrators to spend. And that funding must be without any strings attached. They don’t want to reform education – just grow it.
Hicks wants teachers to benefit but he wants some common sense reforms and no new taxes. Public education is well funded but the money is not being spent properly.
Here are candidates I will not vote for:
- Drew Edmondson, governor
- Leslie Osborn for Commissioner of Labor
- Joy Hofmeister, State School Superintendent
- Tim Gilpin, U.S. Congress
- Jenny Proehl-Day, District Attorney
- Sen. Kim David, District 18
- Sheila Dills, House District 69
- Rep. Carol Bush, District 70
- Denise Brewer, House District 71
- Rep. Karen Gaddis, District 75
- Rep. Ross Ford, District 76
- Rep. Meloyde Blancett, District 78
This list has Democrats and Republicans. Don’t listen to what an incumbent says without looking at his or her record.
It is a privilege to vote on our leaders. God really picks the winners of elections. Sometimes He gives us leaders we need (Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump) and sometimes we get leaders we deserve (Bill Clinton, Barack Obama).
Do your homework. The fate of our city, state and nation are at stake.
