Character matters when it comes to the people we elect to office but it is particularly important in the office of Oklahoma Attorney General.
An AG must be an expert on the law, have years of experience dealing with political issues and have the trust of the people. If you don’t think a dishonest attorney general can do great damage, take a look at the U.S. Department of Justice and see what is going on.
That’s not the case in Oklahoma.
On July 23, 2021, Gov. Kevin Stitt appointed Republican John O’Connor to fill a vacated spot as Oklahoma Attorney General.
O’Conner had previously been nominated by former President Donald Trump to a split seat on the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. Democrats in Congress stalled his confirmation vote because they knew he would not accommodate their corruption. He withdrew before he could get a vote.
O’Connor has a stellar reputation in Tulsa where he was an attorney for the prestigious Hall Estill Law Firm.
In his short tenure as Oklahoma Attorney General, he has championed conservative causes.
He sent a letter to President Joe Biden complaining about Biden’s latest attempt at censorship.
O’Connor has taken on the U.S. Supreme Court over their decision on the McGirt case concerning tribal sovereignty. He has battled the efforts by public schools to embrace transgenderism and Critical Race Theory.
O’Connor has urged the Biden Administration to obey federal immigration laws and protect our southern border. He wants Biden to stop his war on energy and set the stage for economic prosperity.
In other words, O’Connor is a champion for freedom and rule of law.
The Tulsa Beacon endorses Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor and urges you to vote for him on June 28.
