Socialist/Independent/Democrat Bernie Sanders announced his plan to cancel $1.6 trillion in student loans and pay for it with a tax on Wall Street.  Sanders says his plan would wipe out college debt for 45 million Americans.

If you are one of those 45 million, that might entice you to vote for Bernie.  But what about those students who have already paid off their student loans?  In the interest of fairness, shouldn’t Bernie also have a reparation plan to refund their money?

And what about students who worked their way through college and never took out a student loan?  Shouldn’t they be compensated in some way?  And what about the people who never even thought about going to college, because they knew they couldn’t afford it?  Shouldn’t they be entitled to compensation for their missed opportunities in life?

When you start down the road of “entitlement”- the demands never end until taxpayers finally run out of money and quit working – and that’s when the government takes over and tells you what to do.  That’s how socialism works.

American citizens had better wake up and realize these are political promises that can never be fulfilled.
