OU running back Kennedy Brooks is a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award.

In 2019, Brooke was a second-team All-Big 12 honoree by league’s coaches and media.

He played in 13 contests and started each of the last 10 in which he appeared (missed the game at Kansas due to injury). Brooks rushed for 1,011 yards and six touchdowns on 155 carries and ranked ninth nationally and first in Big 12 by averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

He recorded four 100-yard rushing games and ran for 35 yards and team’s first touchdown in CFP Semifinal at the Peach Bowl vs. No. 1 LSU.

Brooks scored OU’s first touchdown and finished with 59 rushing yards on 17 carries and 24 receiving yards on two catches in Big 12 Championship win against No. 8 Baylor.
