American should genuinely give thanks to God this Thanksgiving.

And here’s why.

Under the Trump Administration, America was experiencing an economic boom. Wages were up. Unemployment was down. Manufacturing was returning to America. America become energy independent for the first time. Trade agreements with China, Canada, Mexico and others were renegotiated to create a level playing field. America’s southern border was secure. The stock markets soared

Then the Communist Chinese government sent us the coronavirus. Uncertain of the impact of the virus, we shut down the nation for several months.

But things are looking up. Record numbers of new jobs have been created. The stock market has recovered nicely. Treatments for the coronavirus are more effective and a possible vaccine is close.

And if you compare life in the United States with the rest of the world, you can appreciate how rich we are in goods and human resources.

We should be thankful for our freedoms, which are God-given yet affirmed by our Constitution. We should be thankful for our farmers who feed the world. We should be thankful for our policemen and firefighters who risk their lives to keep us safe. We should be thankful for those who volunteer to serve in our military, the best military in the world.

These freedoms and privileges come with a price. Our forefathers gladly paid that price and with the help of God, passed them along to future generations.

God has smiled upon America, even with all its flaws and that deserves a large measure of thanks.
