Randy Bright’s opinion article in Nov. 29, 2018 Tulsa Beacon addresses a topic I too have thought about often over the years. “Corporate biblical knowledge is at risk.”  I often read Walker Moore’s column since he focuses on his family often telling autobiographical non-fiction stories.  Years ago one of my sons went on a couple mission trips with Awe Star and we got to meet Walker as well.

But back to Randy’s – subject – article.  Randy also says “learning the Bible is a lifelong endeavor.”  Well it should be.  Is it only the mega sermon-by-video church that is at fault?  Or, is it because churches which used to, but seldom any more, teach the Bible in both theological and practical ways also at fault?  Are most churches in America actually falling into two camps: 1) those that come out and say The Bible isn’t that important, or 2) Biblical education amounts to offering mostly or only milk (evangelism)?

The new Christian needs to see a need for Biblical knowledge beyond salvation.  The new Christian needs to be challenged to find their place in the body of Christ, and then to work, usually not for money, to achieve that goal.  Walker found his place in the body of Christ with Awe Star but then again as a contributor to Tulsa Beacon with his family stories.  He is a good example of a mature Christian.

I wrote a short book, I Wish Sons Came With Instructions.  It is just 35 pages of stories, much like Walker would write.  I offer it for sale at www.genesis1-27.com.  But, most importantly, I would like young dads of sons to benefit from these stories.
