Phase 2 of widening South Yale Avenue between East 81st Street and East 91st Street is scheduled to begin March 28, with the road closing to through traffic.

The closure is expected to last about 120 days, weather permitting. Message boards were posted Monday at both ends of the project to notify motorists of this upcoming traffic change.

Access for local traffic will be maintained, but the road will be fully closed at points within the corridor and through traffic will not be possible.

This mile of Yale Avenue is being widened from two lanes to six lanes. The project includes retaining walls, landscaping, waterlines, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, curb, gutter and sidewalks on both sides. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2023.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors Inc. for this $29,257,000 project funded by Tulsa sales tax.
